After exploring a responsive vSphere web client, I explored what the client experience might be if built it as a progressive web app (PWA).
The vision, one web client codebase to work on any device. When opened on a mobile device and installed on the home-screen, the web app would feel much more like a native app. It would open in a chrome-less browser, transition from a splash screen, leverage creative cacheing, and be accessible off-line or when data connections drop.
This concept and prototype tested very well with end-users and we validated that a segment of users would find a companion web app with limited functionality to be useful and desirable.
